Service Definitions

Bronze: Recommended for clients wishing only for viewable images of slides and negatives. Images are scanned at a resolution (about 150 dpi) suitable for viewing as a slide show or for emailing. Printed images may or may not be satisfactory. No special attention is paid to any cropping; the resulting scan may have uneven borders. No special attention is paid to any editing: dust, scratch, or redeye removal or any enhancements such as brightening. The resulting images are provided on a CD. DVDs are not available with this option.

Silver: Recommended for clients wishing to view and share images, with the possibility for printing. Images are scanned at a resolution (equivalent to 400 dpi) suitable for printing to 4x6 snapshots or for viewing as a slide show, or for emailing. Any ragged edges are cropped, minimal enhancements are made to obvious defects such as dust, scratches, red-eye and dark or backlit photos. Resulting images are provided on CD or DVD.

Gold: Recommended for clients wishing to archive, print, view and share images. Also for the client capable of performing photo editing. Images are scanned at a resolution (600-1200 dpi) suitable to printing to 8x10 or viewing as a slide show. Images may not be suitable for emailing without size adjustments as scanning at higher resolutions creates larger files with longer download times. Each image is viewed for dust, scratches, redeye and other defects, and discretional enhancements are made. For clients wishing to do their own editing, scanning with no editing is also available. Resulting images are provided on CD or DVD.

Custom: For clients with specific custom requirements. Examples of custom requirements are high resolutions, intense editing, oversize images, cut negatives and slides other than 35 mm. For budget purposes add 25% to level pricing but please request a quote as many accommodations are available.

If, after service is complete, client determines that a higher level of service is desired for selective images, upgrades to 10% of the original order is eligible for a discount of 50% on upgrades to a higher level. Upgrades to 100% of the order are given at a discount of 10%.

Basic: Straight VHS/SVHS to DVD transfer with no in-out transitions

Custom: VHS/SVHS to DVD transfer with itemized in-out transitions.

DVD service assumes images provided in .jpg, .bmp, or .gif format of equivalent to 300+ dpi either on CD/DVD, and video provided on DVD. (Images in excess of 600 dpi will slow download times and result in fewer images per CD/DVD.) Digitizing services available. See above.
